No. It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. If you do decide to take part you are required to fill in a participant consent form. You can withdraw at any time by informing the investigators, you do not have to give a reason. You can withdraw your data anytime before data analysis takes place.

What will happen to me if I take part?

Once you have completed a participant consent form. You will have an interview with a researcher over the phone/Microsoft Teams/Zoom/SKYPE, concerning the research questions. We will use an interview guide to conduct the interview, which will take between 30 and 60 minutes. You are able to bring a friend or family member (within Covid-19 guidelines), if this makes you more comfortable. The interview will be audio recorded, and transcribed at a later date. All identifying data will be removed at this stage.

We will analyse all of the data and provide a synthesised report of findings. Findings will be submitted to Liverpool John Moores University in the form of a PhD thesis, will be made available on this website, and will and will contribute to policy guidelines.
